Pix From Billy's Last Show

This is the rig I was hired to op at a show in Long Beach last week. I would love to name drop, but I signed a confidentiality agreement and would rather not mess with a happy client. Anyway...

This was the biggest Protools rig I have ever operated, maxing out at 48 inputs via 3 Protools HD interfaces, using Protools 9 and 6 racks of 8 channel ATI mic preamps (API).

This rig did not have a single glitch, running 48 tracks for seven days.

The recording was primarily lecture and video playback, however, I did get my hands on a couple of singers, a banjo, a guitar and a trumpet.

If given the choice, I would operate this rig everyday. It rents for $4000/week and costs upwards of $50k to own.
